WOOOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! After Saturday who knew what was coming next for Bayley or how long it would take……but as far as we knew she was a free agent. After Sasha Bank’s unexpected loss at Summerslam on Saturday, all we knew was Charlotte was champ again. Charlotte came out congratulated herself and wanted to put every woman in the back on notice that she was champ. Then General Manager Mick Foley came out and congratulated her on all her success and on becoming a 2X WWE Women’s Champion but not without letting her they have taken the time in signing the HOTTEST Recently Free Agent to a Raw Contract………………………..The crowd anticipating the music, anticipating the inflatable tube men, anticipating the Woman that we’ve all been waiting for. BAYLEY!!!!! You here the crowd go crazy and celebrating the official debut of the heart and soul of NXT, the hugger, the former NXT Women’s Champ. With “You Deserve It” Chants running through the Barclays Center, Charlotte and her lackey Dana Brooke were tired of all the attention being on Bayley. With words being traded between both sides, GM Mick officially made Bayley vs Dana a match that was to happen tonight.

Bayley vs Dana Brooke

Bayley proved her status as the hottest female free agent in the game by cannily outsmarting Brooke’s power-based offense, ultimately powering her into the corner, landing a spinning elbow off the top rope and finally executing a Bayley-to-Belly Suplex to win. Congrats, Bayley. It’s not a moment too soon. With both Sasha and Bálor injured, we could all use a hug right about now.

Bayley vs Asuka 2.

Returning to the site of her career’s defining moment, Bayley hoped and believed lightning would strike twice for her in an NXT Women’s Championship Match.

While her opponent last year, current WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, was no pushover, her opponent on this night, Asuka, was an entirely different type of force. The undefeated Empress of Tomorrow stunned a sold-out arena in Dallas into silence during WrestleMania 32 week, steamrolling Bayley en route to capturing the title. Asuka was supremely confident as she approached the ring and stared down her challenger with a sinister smile across her face.

With Becky Lynch and Banks watching at ringside, the two women spent the early moments of the contest sizing each other up, neither woman able to gain the upper hand. The champion finally gained an advantage when Bayley dove off the ropes, only for Asuka to nearly crush her nose in with a knee to the face. The NXT Women’s Champion grinned from ear to ear after that as she unleashed strike after strike on her dazed challenger. Bayley psyched herself up as Asuka slammed her head into the turnbuckle, finally getting the energy she needed to turn the tables. Bayley showed how much she’s been studying the champion, evading Asuka’s flying hip attack and catching her in the ropes.

Bayley continued to gain momentum as she fought off attack after attack from the insanely aggressive champion. However, Asuka is a force unlike any other and cut off her challenger at every point, eventually trapping Bayley in an ankle lock and wrenching away. The Empress of Tomorrow teed off on Bayley with kicks, only for the challenger to stand up and demand that Asuka hit her in the face. Asuka was happy to oblige, but nearly got caught in a pinning attempt by Bayley.

Bayley survived the Asuka Lock and connected with the Bayley-to-Belly that had Brooklyn thinking a new champion would be crowned. Bayley survived another Asuka Lock and tried to weather the storm, standing up and slapping the champion. Unfortnately, Asuka responded with a kick to the head that echoed through the Barclays Center and put Bayley down for the three-count.

Result: Asuka defeats Bayley

Asuka showed tremendous sportsmanship in hugging her defeated challenger and ceding the ring to her. The sold-out Brooklyn crowd was on its feet in appreciation for the valiant Bayley, who left the ring with her head held high.

Asuka def. Bayley for the NXT Women’s Championship

|| View all digitals ||

The Empress of Tomorrow is the champion of today.

For 223 days, Bayley valiantly fought off every challenger who threatened to stop her NXT Women’s Championship reign. At NXT TakeOver: Dallas, however, the beloved standard-bearer of NXT’s women’s division ran into a destroyer named Asuka.

In this first-time match-up, both women were cautious at the start, trying to figure out their opposition. Asuka was the first to connect with a big assault, nailing Bayley with a hip attack. A second attempt at the hip attack, this time through the ropes, was well-scouted by Bayley, who dodged the move and then took control. The NXT Women’s Champion then battered Asuka with an elbow drop, a top-rope hurricanrana and a cross body block.

The Empress of Tomorrow shot back with sharp kicks, including one that visibly dazed Bayley, but Bayley returned fire, wrenching Asuka’s knee with a dragon screw leg whip. Bayley then sank in the same submission hold she used to make Sasha Banks tap out at TakeOver: Respect, yet Asuka escaped.

A subsequent Bayley-to-Belly attempt was blocked, and after nailing the champion with a spin kick, Asuka applied the Asuka Lock. Bayley tried desperately to save her title reign and reach the ropes, but was unable to do so. After a prolonged time in the hold, Bayley appeared to pass out, leaving the referee no choice but to signal for the bell.

As the NXT Universe processed the shocking turn of events, Asuka was awarded the NXT Women’s Title, ushering in a new era for NXT’s acclaimed division.

Bayley def. Sasha Banks, 3-2, in a 30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match for the NXT Women’s Championship

20151007-bayley-sasha-takeover-642

The NXT Universe was on the edge of their seats before the competitors even made their way to the ring for the historic half-hour main event, the tenth WWE Iron Man Match in WWE history. The Diva Revolution was out in full force to watch the bout, as Charlotte and Becky Lynch joined WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon at ringside.

Bayley and Sasha Banks took their time sizing each other up, letting precious seconds tick away. The two women circled the ring and locked up, neither able to get a clear advantage. Each tried to take an early lead by going for quick pins, but came up unsuccessful. The two were at a stalemate seven minutes in, each attempting to hit their finishing move and failing. Sasha finally took the lead, taking advantage of the referee’s obstructed vision to poke the champion in the eyes and pin her to go up 1-0.

The lead energized The Boss, who took control of the bout. However, Banks was pulled off the ropes and into a Bayley-to-Belly Suplex, allowing the NXT Women’s Champion to tie the score. Banks’ vicious side then came out, as she repeatedly slammed Bayley into the unforgiving steel ring steps, then hurled her into the entrance set. Banks made her way back to the ring, stopping to mock one of the champion’s biggest fan, Izzy, and earned a decision by count-out to go up 2-1 as the match crept past the halfway mark.

The Boss took her time in picking Bayley apart, stomping on the champion and locking on a devastating Boston Crab, working over Bayley’s back. However, the NXT Women’s Champion fought through the pain and caught Banks with a roll-up to even the score at 2. Bayley battled through Sasha’s malicious offense as time continued to escape them. She gained an upper hand when she evaded the charging challenger in the corner, sending Sasha shoulder first into the ring post.

Bayley soon turned her attention towards Sasha’s hand, getting retribution for the damage The Boss inflicted on her hand at TakeOver: Brooklyn. The champion soon countered a dive from Banks into a Bayley-to-Belly on the arena floor, then soon hit another off the ropes, but Banks somehow got her foot on the ropes to stop the pin.

Out of desperation, Bayley went for the reverse hurricanrana off the ropes that helped win her the title in Brooklyn, but Banks landed on her feet and hit the champion with her own finisher, then locked on the Bank Statement with 90 seconds left in the bout. However, Banks could not get a full grip with her injured hand. Bayley slammed Banks’ hand into the mat, then locked on a submission hold of her own. Banks verbally gave up as the final seconds ticked away, giving Bayley the 3-2 victory, in this epic battle.

After the bout, WWE COO Triple H, NXT General Manager William Regal and the entire NXT roster entered the arena to celebrate this historic occasion with two of the most valiant competitors in NXT history.

20150910_NXT_BayleySasha_LIGHT_HOMEPAGE

On the heels of their groundbreaking, show-stealing battle at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, Bayley and Sasha Banks are set to make history once again. NXT General Manager William Regal has confirmed that the two will clash once again in the main event of NXT TakeOver on Oct. 7 in a 30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match for the NXT Women’s Championship!

This title match will go a full half-hour. Whoever scores the most pinfalls, submissions, disqualifications or count-outs will win the match and be declared NXT Women’s Champion.

The rivalry between these two Divas runs deep. After months of coming up short in championship matches, Bayley finally found the champion’s spirit within, going on a tear through the best competition NXT had to offer, defeating Emma, Charlotte and Becky Lynch to earn a title match with Sasha in Brooklyn. While the match meant everything to Bayley, The Boss dismissed her challenger before the bell even rang. Having been called up to WWE’s main roster as part of the Divas Revolution, the Team B.A.D. member brushed Bayley off, saying that she wasn’t worth her time.

Fueled by Sasha’s disrespect, Bayley laid it all on the line at the sold-out Barclays Center. Despite The Boss’ best attempts to re-injure her hand, the happy-go-lucky Diva fought through the pain, and several nasty spills, to connect with a reverse hurricanrana off the ropes and a Belly-to-Bayley Suplex to capture the title.

Having finally reached the top of the mountain, Bayley stood tall with the NXT Women’s Championship in hand, soon to be joined in celebration by Charlotte and Becky. Sasha got back in the ring and hugged her rival, before the four Divas who changed the face of women’s wrestling took a curtain call at NXT’s biggest event ever.

As it turns out, the last chapter in this grueling rivalry hadn’t been written yet. Bayley and Sasha Banks will have another opportunity to change the game at NXT TakeOver. Who will go the distance in a grueling 30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match and walk out of Orlando with the NXT Women’s Championship? Find out Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, only on WWE Network!

In an exclusive interview on WWE.Com, Bayleys talks with Byron Saxton about what went on behind the curtain Pre & Post Match on the night of August 22nd, the night Bayley became the NEW NXT Women’s Champion!

“All I could do was cry. I was crying because of everything I’ve been through to get there, how I got there, who I was in there with, how many people were there with us, how important it was and because I was literally living the dream.”

These reflective words of Bayley recount her emotional reaction to winning the NXT Women’s Championship just two weeks ago. In an unprecedented event for the brand, NXT Takeover: Brooklyn represented the largest crowd to ever view a live NXT event, with nearly 16,000 strong packed inside Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Even more astounding? The co-main event featured a much-anticipated match-up between then-Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and the challenger and No. 1 contender, Bayley.

“It was a huge honor,” Bayley told WWE.com. “It was an accomplishment in itself that the company would trust me in a spotlight like that. Sasha and I are officially a part of history.”

In what was her first trip to Brooklyn, New York, Bayley decided to forego the opportunity to sightsee, opting instead to keep to herself. The day before the match, Bayley’s activities consisted of watching tape, eating well-portioned, nutrient-rich meals and pushing through an extended late-night cardio session to prepare her for the rigors to come in less than 24 hours.

“In the past two championship matches I felt like I may have let some fans down who believed in me because I just couldn’t get it done,” she revealed. “I felt like my family just felt sorry for me because I couldn’t get the big one. I needed to prove to them and to myself that I could accomplish my dreams.”

Since making her NXT debut nearly three years ago, Bayley’s support among the NXT faithful has been nothing short of prodigious. While labeled a super fan for much of her NXT career, the San Jose, Calif.-born Diva continually displayed the one intangible that seemingly endeared her to the entire NXT Universe. Some might say it was that continued support from the NXT Universe that helped propel Bayley toward the moment that she would stand behind the curtain, just seconds away from entering the biggest match of her career.

“I was confident before I walked out there but so nervous that I was sick to my stomach,” Bayley remembered. “I couldn’t even watch the promo package leading into the match because I was so emotional.”

The pre-match nervous confidence would only be trumped by the glee of accomplishing the improbable. The moment the referee’s hand slapped three, Bayley shed her role as the proverbial bridesmaid, instead becoming the bride and, more importantly, NXT’s new Women’s Champion.

“It was one of the most overwhelming moments in my life,” the champion said. “It may be the most magical moment I’ll ever have in wrestling or life. Hearing the crowd react like that was something I’ve never heard before. After the match, Vince McMahon shook both our hands. Everyone was giving us hugs. Triple H, Stephanie and even my favorite Diva, Lita, were there to say how proud they were of us. It was just amazing.”

That night, Bayley celebrated her victory with a special dinner alongside her siblings, mother and boyfriend. Taken aback by the number of text messages and phone calls she received after winning the Women’s Title, Bayley admitted it still feels weird to see the championship gold in her bag.

What doesn’t feel weird is knowing that the dream has been attained and the mission accomplished.

“I want every single person out there with a dream, no matter what it is, to know that it is possible,” she said. “And it’s possible to do it your way, the way you believe in. Nobody can deny your heart. It sounds so cheesy, but Sasha Banks and I had the same dream since we were 10 years old, and wrestling brought us together to prove that anything you want to do is within reach! And it can be special. You just have to believe in yourself.”
